Percutaneous vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty are effective and safe procedure for patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. The procedures are low risk and provide minimal invasion and quick recovery. Approximately 85-90% of the patients have had pain relief and improved mobility after 24 hours of the procedure. A lot of studies have been done on the outcomes of percutaneous vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty and most of them prove that it is an effective treatment for conditions like painful metastasis, multiple myeloma and vertebral hemangioma along with compression fractures.
