Compartment syndrome is the condition that results from increase in pressure in compartment of limb leading to neurovascular supply cut down. This can be acute or chronic. Acute compartment syndrome is an emergency. Chronic compartment syndrome results from exertional syndrome such as exercise. It is diagnosed by increase in pressure from 15mmHg while resting and more than 30mmHg when exercising. It is also mandatory for the post exertional pressure to stay up after the exertion has been stopped. Chronic compartment syndrome is most common in anterior leg.
