Syphilitic Aortitis

Syphilitic Aortitis

Syphilitic aortitis is inflammation of the aorta associated with the tertiary stage of syphilis. It begins as inflammation of the outermost layer of the blood vessel, including the the vasa vasorum which supplies the aorta itself with blood. If the disease progresses, syphilitic aortitis leads to an aortic aneurysm. Credits: https://images.app.goo.gl/NThpTH97LDuW5Eri8 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syphilitic_aortitis
