People should stay indoors to avoid air pollution. It is beneficial for their health. However, air pollution is not limited to the outdoors only. Indoor activities also contribute to air pollution. Cooking, smoking, and any type of burning are potential sources which actively contribute to indoor air pollution. Outdoor air pollution can be avoided by stay indoors. It is difficult to avoid indoor pollution. The only way to protect yourself from it is to minimize the potential sources. In a major air pollution episode, the local authorities must introduce emergency interventions. Such interventions should include closure of schools and postponing sport and social events.
