SLCPs, or Short-lived climate pollutants, are air pollutants which remain in air for very short time period. Short time may be somewhere in between few days to a decade. This indicates the need of elimination program now to control the air pollutants in air which will aid slowing down the dramatic pace of climate change. The most common SLCPs which are biggest concern to health include • Carbon i.e. soot; makes the most significant percentage of fine particulate matter and it also associated with high morbidity rate especially premature deaths • Methane; contributes in the formation of ozone • Ozone; impairs respiratory system
