The cat scratch disease occurs as a result of scratches from feral or domestic cats. The causative agent of this infection is Bartonella henselae. Symptoms of cat scratch disease include: - Fever - Enlarged and tender lymph nodes - Scab or pustule at the site of scratch - Skin eruption in rare cases The infection is typically self-limiting. Antibiotics may help in alleviating lymph node enlargement and tenderness.
