What are the causes, symptoms, and treatment of Tennis Elbow Syndrome?
Symptoms and signs include pain in the elbow and forearm, especially on activity or extension of the elbow, tenderness over the lateral epicondyle. It is an overuse injury in which repeated extension movements at the elbow lead to inflammation of the extensor tendons. It is commonly seen in sports such as tennis/ squash, baseball, swimming, throwing activities etc. Treatment involves rest, pain killers, steroid injections and in refractory cases, surgical release of the extensor tendon.
