Spinal shock is a consequence of spinal transaction which is anatomical and physiological in nature. This condition is not associated with circulatory disturbances. The spinal transaction results in temporary or permanent loss or depression of reflexes. This depression or loss of reflexes is experienced below the level of transaction only. The causes usually include vehicle accidents, sports injuries, violence, alcohol, recreation injuries, falls and diseases. It is a serious health condition and needs prompt medical attention. The signs and symptoms of Neurogenic Shock are - Changes in body temperature - Changes in skin color - Changes in skin moisture - Hypertension - Low heart rate - Changes in sensory response - Abnormalities in musculoskeletal system - Altered GI functions - Depressed genital reflexes
