Paget`s disease of bone is also known as Osteitis deformans. It is seen in elderly and is more common in males . It may present with enlargement of bones causing deafness in case skull bones are enlarged. In late cases high output cardiac failure can develop as this has developed orthopnea. The affected bones are thickened and bent .Patient complains of dull bone pain. The most useful routine tests are measurement of the serum alkaline phosphatase concentration and 24-hour urinary hydroxyproline. Urinary N-telopeptide is a sensitive marker of bone resorption and is helpful in gauging the response to treatment .
