CSF production and containers! The ventricles of the brain are a interconnected network of cavities where the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is produced. The ventricular system is composed of 2 lateral ventricles, the third ventricle, the cerebral aqueduct, and the fourth ventricle. CSF is produced in the choroid plexus of the lateral ventricles and in the 4th ventricle of the brain. CSF then circulates through the ventricles of the brain and the subarachnoid space of the meninges. The ventricular system is continuous with the central canal of the spinal cord, allowing for the flow of CSF to circulate. We have a great new video on ‘12 Cranial Nerves’ Visit our channel!
