This photo shows a traumatic degloving injury to the hand. A devolving injury is when an extensive section of skin is completely torn off the underlying tissue, severing the blood supply. Gas + air. Put in a line on the opposite arm. Treat with analgesics (tier 1 + titration of morphine) + 1st dose of antibiotics if possible. Cover a cloth in dermatologic betadine and loosely wrap the hand. Test hemoglobin with a hemocue test. Regularly take blood pressure on the opposite arm. Take other vitals for a baseline.
