Bartholin's cyst refers to cystic dilatation of Bartholin's gland secondary to obstruction of the outflow. The cyst is usually painless, however, when infected, it can transform into abscess which is painful. Depending on size, pain, and infection, the Bartholin's cyst may be treated medically or surgically.
