Hand foot mouth disease is a illness of childhood. The causative agent is coxsackie virus. Hand foot mouth disease is characterized by sores in oral cavity along with rashes on upper and lower limbs. The condition may be associated with prodromal symptoms. There is no specific treatment of hand foot mouth disease. Is it contagious. I am a school nurse. I had a student that got that. I thought it was chicken pox
I would presume so much like chicken pox, measles, and other virulent diseases.
I've just looked it up. Yes, this is contagious and more so in the first week but can be for up to days and weeks after infection whether symptoms are present or not.
