A SKULL COATED IN GOLD
Why was this skull coated in gold and saved by a surgeon general Thomas Lawson in the mid 1800s? The answer is a mystery lost to history. During that era it was common for physicians to collect skulls and specimens. Today it resides in the National Museum of Health and Medicine in Washington, DC.
