3rd degree burn with escar formation

3rd degree burn with escar formation

In this type of burn both the epidermis and dermis are destroyed along with the sensory nerves of the the dermis. It causes escar formation. The eschar, by virtue of its inelasticity, results in the burn-induced compartment syndrome if escharotomy is not performed. Escharotomy is the surgical division of the nonviable eschar, the tough, inelastic mass of burnt tissue that results from full-thickness circumferential and near-circumferential skin burns. https://www.instagram.com/p/BVC46UTA-Uy/?utm_medium=copy_link
