What are the pro's and con's of circumcision?
Circumcision is a process of in which foreskin is removed from the penis. It is done in local anesthesia and 3 types of techniques may be used as physician’s preference: gomco clamp, plastibell device and the mogen clamp. Getting circumcision is a personal preference and a very controversial topic. After the birth of a male baby the doctor may offer you the procedure. The procedure may be done right after birth or at puberty. It is done as personal choice or a religious reason. Pros of the procedure include: decreased risk of uti, penile cancers, STD's, HIV. It is also the treatment of certain conditions like: balanitis, balanoposthitis, parahimosis and phimosis, it also over- all improves hygiene. Cons include: infection from the procedure or trauma while procedure is being done.
