
Six clinical types of oral LP have been reported: • Reticular, a network of raised white lines or striae (reticular pattern) • Papular, white papules Plaque-like, simulating leukoplakia • Red atrophic areas – LP is one of the most common causes of desquamative gingivitis • Erosive/ulcerative – persistent, irregular, and painful erosions with a yellowish slough (this type is less common) • Bullous.
