Asherman syndrome (intrauterine synechiae)

* A cause of secondary uterine amenorrhoea * Adhesions which obliterate the uterine cavity completely or partially *The condition may follow endometrial infections like TB , operation like myomectomy, overcurettage of endometrial specially if it affect the basal layer *we can use hysterosalpingiography HSG to take film and see the synechiae , Hysteroscopy provides direct visualisation of adhesions *Ttt can be done using hysteroscopy for adhesiolysis and inserion of IUD or foley catheter for 2 months to prevent readhesion, administration of estrogen may help endometrial regeneration

Hormonal therapy helps endometrial regeneration , regeneration of endometrial layers doesn't cause readhesion like separating raw sufcases so recurrence of readhesion decreases
