Zika virus is a flavivirus transmitted by aedes mosquitoes. Most cases of zika virus are asymptomatic. In symptomatic cases, prodromal symptoms and rashes are found. However, mothers infected during pregnancy affects the fetus; the condition is known as Zika Virus Syndrome. Zika virus during pregnancy can cause microcephaly. It may also cause oreterm birth, still birth, or intrauterine death. The association is found between Guillian Barre syndrome and Zika virus. The cure of zika virus or its complications is not yet found.
