CDC/ACIP Influenza Vaccine Recommendations • Everyone aged 6 months and older is recommended to have annual influenza vaccination. • Use a licensed vaccine according to age and health status. Every vaccine has age restrictions. • High-risk patients and their caregivers are utmost priority. • In case of limited vaccine supply, the priority must be given to; - Children (6 to 59 months) - Adults (50 years or older) - Patients with underlying chronic pulmonary, cardiovascular, hepatic, hematologic, metabolic, renal, metabolic and neurologic diseases. - Immunocompromised individuals - Pregnant women - Children and adolescents (aged 6 months through 18 years) receiving aspirin- or salicylate-containing medications who might be at risk for Reye syndrome associated with influenza - People residing at nursing homes - Obese individuals (BMI 40 or greater)
