Open globe laceration refers to a penetrating injury of the eyewall, due to either a laceration or an occult rupture. Classically, a ruptured globe occurs when a considerable amount of blunt force is applied to the eye which rapidly causes the elevation of intraocular pressure (IOP), leading to frank rupture of the eyewall by means of an inside-out mechanism. Open globe injuries are a significant cause of permanent visual impairment and ocular morbidity worldwide. Prompt assessment of the type and extent of the injury is critical to ensure timely management. By: https://www.instagram.com/p/CRewnCch_ol/?utm_medium=copy_link
