What is the frequency of epidural steroid injections (ESIs)?
Frequency of ESIs The frequency of ESIs is still unclear. It depends upon the medication used in the ESIs. For long-acting steroids e.g. methylprednisolone, the interval is 2 weeks. For short-acting steroids, the interval is lesser than 2 weeks. In clinical practice, 3-4 ESIs are used in the course of treatment of acute radicular pain syndromes.
