Patient presented with vesicular rash on one side of forehead and orbit. Clear demarcation of affected area with normal area. Painful vesicular lesions with high grade fever. Diagnosis and treatment?

Very correct! It is herpes zooster opthalmicus. The virus stays dormant in the ganglion cells after an attack of chicken pox and activates when the immunity of the host is compromised. The lesions produced by HZV are vesicular, pruritic and painful. High grade fever is present. Treatment involves acyclovir 800 mg 5 times a day for 10 days.
