Sleeve gastrectomy is a laparoscopic procedure which involves the excision of 75% of the stomach leaving a tube or sleeve shaped stomach behind . This way it induces weight loss by restricting the food intake and reducing the capacity of stomach. It was initially used for patients on higher risk of obesity but nowadays it is also being used for patients with BMI greater than 40. Don't go to Mexico and have surgery. My sister went and they cut the whole stomach out and then she came bck home and a week later sepsis kicked in. Now she can't keep food or anything down. Will eventually have to have a tube to eat through. So you get what you pay for. I had the gastric bypass in 2007. Lost 200 pounds and have kept it off ever since. I can eat just about anything I want to but I rarely get hungry. I have to force myself to eat sometimes. Lol. So I never had any complications either.
