Administration of Dorsal Penile Nerve block - Use a small gauge needle and inject small volume of anesthetic at the dorsum of base of penis. It will raise a bleb of local anesthetic. - Now use a large gauge needle and proceed till you touch the pubic symphysis via the earlier formed bled of local anesthetic. - Withdraw the needle slightly. - Redirect and pass below the public symphysis i.e. slightly lateral and 3-5 mm deeper to reach the appropriate site. - Aspirate the syringe to ensure no flashback. - Infiltrate the local anesthetic.
