Raynaud's Disease

Raynaud's disease or Reynolds phenomenon is a medical condition which causes spasm of arteries, reducing the blood supply to the fingers. The episode results in the numbness of the area with whitish coloration and pain. As the blood flow returns the area turns back red and burns. The spasms happen in response to cold, stress, or emotional upset.In some cases, it also causes less blood flow the ears, toes, nipples, knees, or nose. Treatment of Raynaud's disease depends on its severity and patient's health conditions. For most people, Raynaud's disease isn't disabling, but it can affect the quality of life.
