Haemolacria refers to the red discoloration of tears due to presence of blood in tears. It is not a pathological condition in itself, rather it indicates an underlying disease. Many conditions can cause haemolacria. Most common among them are: - Aberrant development of blood vessels - Inflammation of tissues - Tumors - Bacterial infections - Viral infections The management of haemolacria is correction of underlying pathology.
