CONJUNCTIVAL CHEMIOSMOSIS

Chemiosmosis is the edema of conjunctiva, due to the accumulation of gelatinous fluid in the inner lining of the eye. The primary cause of chemosis is the irritation of the eye, caused mainly by bacterial or viral infections, seasonal allergies or allergic reactions to pets.It is also found to be associated with angioedema.  The goal of the treatment is to manage the swelling and inflammation by placing cold compresses over your eyes.It will help reduce the discomfort and negative impact on your vision.Your further treatment may depend on the cause of your chemosis.
