Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular, parasitic alveolate that causes the disease toxoplasmosis. Found worldwide, T. gondii is capable of infecting virtually all warm-blooded animals, but felids such as domestic cats are the only known definitive hosts in which the parasite may undergo sexual reproduction.

It's usually an opportunistic coccidian parasite. Common in hiv infected individual, affecting mainly intestinal mucosa but some tachyzoit forms speard to distant organs. Can be either acquired or congenial.......

Most people infected with toxoplasmosis do not have any symptoms. They often don't know they're infected.
Some people have flu-like symptoms, including:
