Twin twin transfusion syndrome
Twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) is a rare, serious condition that can occur in pregnancies when identical twins share a placenta. Abnormal blood vessel connections form in the placenta and allow blood to flow unevenly between the babies.

I had this with my identical twins. We were fortunate for them both to survive at 33 weeks. I had an emergency c-section when they were just hours from dying. One was 5 pounds 11 ounces, the other 2 pounds 3 ounces. They are now 22 years old.
