Hyperodontia

Hyperodontia

Hyperdontia is the condition of having supernumerary teeth or teeth that appear in addition to the regular number of teeth. They can appear in any area of the dental arch and can affect any dental organ. Usually affect the permanent teeth than the milk teeth. Their arrangement may be symmetrical or non-symmetrical. Causes could be hereditary in conditions of a single excess tooth or maybe associated with syndromes like the Gardners syndrome, Sturge-Weber syndrome or the Marfan's in case of many supranumarary teeth eruptions which is rare. It can also be associated with conditions like the cleft lip/palate and craniofacial dysplasia.
