Sphenoid bone anatomy

Here's a look at a very central bone wedged into the skull: the sphenoid bone. It's a little tricky to visualise what parts of the skull this bone contributes to, so we'll look at it from lots of different perspectives. We'll look a the wings, the pterygoid plates, the foramina, the bones around it, the hypophyseal fossa (and sella turcica) and the most notable bony lumps and bumps.
