Why there is no numbness over the thenar eminence in case of hypothyroidism?

Because the palmar cutaneous branch does not pass through the carpal tunnel. You can get numbness in the rest of the median nerve distribution as hypothyroidism causes fluid retention which can then compress peripheral nerves. This is particularly evident at the median nerve distribution as the nerve becomes more compressed in the relatively rigid carpal tunnel.
