Why do our extremities "fall asleep"? And why do we feel numbness when sitting for a while?

Numbness in medical terminology refers to hypoaesthsia... That is' lack or absent perception of normal sensory stimulus from the skin... Its usaully occur due to lesion of any part of ascending sensory system...its may occur normally when u doesnt move u body part to longer time....

Noah I am not a doctor, but I believe it is from crushed blood vessels cutting off the blood supply to your extremities.
