Charles procedure

Charles procedure

The Charles procedure is typically done for lymphedema. It's a circumferential debulking of skin and subcutaneous tissue down to the fascia. This patient was ultimately skin grafted. The Charles procedure is one of historic interest when it comes to lymphedema treatment, but every once in a long while it has its place in trauma.
