I know they do open heart surgery on awake patients.....I have had an MVR and I know my colleagues would not have wanted me awake because I would not have shut up😂❤

Hope u are all better now 💜🌌, I think they wouldn't  mind cuz ure supposed to be comfortable either sleeping or talking 😇, for me I'd prefers chatting with every one and may be as well ask them to show me how the work is done lol🤓

My surgery was in 2011 and I am fine☺my hospital only does awake neurosurgery not cardiac....I would definitely want to have had a mirror to see what they were doing😂i am neurons/ trauma and the only cardiac surgery I do on nights is chest reopening for complications like bleeding when they don't go on bypass☺💚😷

Oooh quite some time have passed 😂, and it's  really cool I wish I could be like in the future 🙆 I really like Neuro surgery and since few months I started liking trauma seriously ure really cool 💜 good luck and I wish your hospital will do open heart surgeries  🙏 

My hospital is downtown Toronto.....we have more stabbings and shootings every year😢...not nearly as bad as some USA cities.  I love trauma because there is such a variety of injuries....each case different.😷  never boring!

Exactly I feel like I will be able to use every little peace of information and my own ability to think & act fast enough and precisely thou I still have some time to actually be a real doctor cuz I'm still a third y student but I'm existed to actually try every thing 😊

Open heart surgery

The 23 y old went under the knife while he was still very much awake . Doctors chose to numb his body with an epidural  to the neck  rather than send him to sleep with general anaesthesia his surgeon said keeping him awake had many medical  benefits .
Lead surgeon DrV. J. , said they had performed more than 600 operations this way since 1999 .
There had been huge efforts to make heart surgery less invasive & this can be done in 2 ways .
Firstly smaller cuts can be made and this helped with modern technology & robotics .
Secondly we are trying to interfere as little as possible with the body's natural  function . 
The patient is given a mild sedative rather than being knocked out " this slow heart rate but means  they can respond to commands "  if they need them to cough or breath deeply to clear air from their heart they can respond , this make the procedure  allot easier to perform ,
As the patient is awake the doctor have a bitter idea of how the body is reacting to the surgery from their reapiraty system to their  brain function .

Would u dare be awake in such procedure 🤔🤷????????
