Injury involved skin, bone, tendon, nerve, and vascular defects Reconstructive surgery included osteosynthesis, tendon, nerve, artery, and vein microsurgical repair. Postoperative treatment included early motion and patient education of self-management with exercises. 9.5-hour hand replantation was done by Valdas Macionis,. Plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Vilnius,University Hospital, Lithuania. An experienced surgical nurse ant anesthesiology team provided valuable assistance. Brachial plexus block was used.Multiple digit amputation with tissue loss is a strong indication for reattachment procedure. Replantation provides soft tissue coverage and good aesthetics. Early postoperative motion under surgeonโs control and patient education of self-management are crucial for functional recovery of the hand.
