Q..A 37 yo old man is going for surgery and will need blood transfusion. Which size of cannula is your best choice? A. 18G B. 24G C. 22G D. 20G

If someone could elucidate why a smaller guage would be better, I always love to learn. Otherwise 18g would be my preferred. Larger diameter allows for quicker infusion if needed. Generally should be fairly simple to obtain on a 37 yo pt.
