Ventricular fibrillation (V-fib) ECG interpretation, causes, treatment, nursing NCLEX and ACLS review. đĢECG Study Guide and Workbook: https://shop.registerednursern.com Quiz: https://www.registerednursern.com/ventricular-fibrillation-v-fib-quiz-questions/ Ventricular fibrillation is a deadly rhythm that could lead to death quickly if it is not treated as soon as possible. With this heart rhythm, the heart is not pumping properly because the ventricles are quivering instead of fully contracting and pumping blood, which causes cardiac output to fall. The waves for ventricular fibrillation can vary in size. There can be coarse fibrillatory waves and fine fibrillatory waves. Due to the appearance of these waves, you will not see P waves, T waves, QRS complexes, PR intervals, and so forth with ventricular fibrillation (vfib). Many things can cause ventricular fibrillation, such as heart attack / heart disease, electrolyte imbalance, hypoxia, and more.
