Granular cell tumor

The unique granular cells that make up the lesion are believed to be of neural (Schwann cell) origin, predominantly on the basis of immunohistochemical studies. Origins from skeletal muscle, macrophages, undifferentiated mesenchymal cells, and pericytes have been suggested but are unproven.
