Bacterial/viral infection (undetermined)

Bacterial/viral infection (undetermined)

2 year old boy admitted for a fever of 104. 5 days later, he develops purple/black blisters and the skin starts to die and deteriorate. About 2 weeks later, he is still on life support, and is having both legs, a complete right arm, and all of the fingers of his left hand amputated. 3 specialists from a nearby state have been called in but no conclusion as to what could have caused this. Initially, doctors thought it was some sort of an autoimmune disorder, then thought it was a flesh-eating disease/virus, but tests have concluded nothing. Any thoughts?
