Trigeminal Nerve (CN5)

Trigeminal Nerve (CN5)

Illustration of the trigeminal nerve and the organs/structures it supplies. The trigeminal nerve is responsible for sensation in the face and motor functions such as biting and chewing. CN5 is the largest of the cranial nerves and each of the two trigeminal nerves has 3 branches as shown above: the ophthalmic nerve (V1), the maxillary nerve (V2), and the mandibular nerve (V3).
