MENINGITIS Infection and inflammation of the meninges, the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord. Etiology: bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites. Types: 2 Bacterial and Viral Clinical features: headaches, fever, stiff neck, seizures sensitivity to bright light, sleepiness, nausea and vomiting, altered mental state, Kerning and Brudzinski signs are positive. Diagnosis: lab, hemoculture, neuroimages, lumbar puncture.
