HIRAYAMA DISEASE

This is the rare neurological disease which is cervical myelopathy related to flexon movement of neck , predominantly affecting male adolescents, is characterised by insidious unilateral or bilateral muscular atrophy and weakness of the forearm and hands, without sensory or pyramidal signs. Key to diagnose is MRI with scanning when the neck is flexed.
