Hair-on-end' Sign

Crew cut/ Hair-on-end' sign is seen in the diploic spaces on the skull radiographs appearing like long, thin vertical striations that resemble hairs standing on ends. Hair-on-end appearance of the skull is a characteristic feature of chronic hemolysis usually seen in patients with thalassemia and sickle cell anemia.
