Mitral valve prolapse
The mainstay of diagnosis and staging of MVP is the echocardiogram. On echocardiogram analysis, indications of MVP include an anterior “leaflet billowing”, thickening of the valve leaflets, or posterior displacement of the leaflets. An EKG may show nonspecific changes, such as T wave inversions or ST/T wave changes.
