Occlusal planes and curves

A curved surface that makes simultaneous contact with the major portion of the incisal and occlusal prominences of the existing teeth. The curve of a dentition on which the occlusal surfaces lie. Occlusal plane is the average plane established by the incisal and occlusal surfaces of the teeth; it is not a plane but represents the planar mean of the curvature of the surfaces
