Types of Insulin

There are 5 types of insulin. Rapid-acting Short-acting Intermediate-acting Long-acting Combination (usually short & intermediate) Insulin is given in accordance to the scale being used. The Sliding scale is most commonly used to determine how many units of insulin should be given. The dose is based on the blood glucose level before a meal. Remember, we give insulin when blood sugar is too high.
