What is Insulin?

What is Insulin?

Insulin is secreted by the beta cells of the pancreas. The pancreas will release insulin in the body as a response to high blood glucose. In individuals with type I diabetes mellitus, they cannot produce insulin on their own, thus insulin therapy is required for management. In type 2 diabetes mellitus, the pancreases does not make enough insulin, thus insulin dependency varies. Different types of insulin vary on absorption, onset, peak, and duration. There are 5 types of insulin. By: https://www.instagram.com/p/CWmgHKXsgJV/?utm_medium=copy_link
