Bridges are permanent repairs that are cemented in between existing teeth in order to replace one (or more) missing teeth. A dental bridge is comprised of three parts: Abutment: The base of the bridge, cemented to nearby teeth dental bridge porcelain Crown: Sits on top of the abutment and holds the pontic Pontic: The replacement tooth Dental Bridges - Options Depending on your needs, your dentist may suggest one of several types of bridges: >Porcelain, metal, or ceramic dental bridges Temporary dental bridge >Permanent traditional, cantilever, or resin-bonded bridges >Most bridges are bonded to one tooth on either side, but a cantilever bridge is attached on only one side.
